Biography

Dr. Szabolcs Erdős is heading the tax department of LegalAgain. He has over a decade of professional taxation experience comprising every field of tax law in a multinational legal, financial and economic context. His areas of expertise range from Hungarian and international corporate income tax, value added tax and relating direct and indirect taxation issues, including tax optimization, tax due diligence, general tax consultancy, consultations with the tax authorities and the ministries, as well as in the accompanying compliance and accounting aspects of all of these. Szabolcs’ taxation projects include, in addition to multiple overall corporate and individual taxation affairs, large-scale international transactions, securitisation, real estate, financing, commercial and various other investment projects.

Formerly, Szabolcs Erdős worked for five years at the international tax department of Ernst & Young Hungary. Subsequently, Szabolcs proceeded to lead the tax service line of Gide Loyrette Nouel Budapest, a renowned international law firm. As a result of his activities over the years, Szabolcs achieved a first tier ranking in EMEA Legal500 both in 2009 and 2010.

Szabolcs has his first degree in economics, earned at Budapest Business School, Faculty of Finances and Accountancy, where he also got qualified as tax expert, registered with the Ministry of National Economy for 7 years. He then proceeded to read law at Eötvös Loránd University, and he became a lawyer. In addition, Szabolcs also specialised in accounting and qualified as accountant. In addition to his native Hungarian, Szabolcs is proficient in English language and also speaks some German.

As a hobby, Szabolcs has been playing classical piano music for almost 20 years. He is also an avid fan of dogs.
